GRANTHAM, Pa. – Taylor Herrgott (Derwood,
Md./Magruder) recorded 15 kills and five total
blocks, including three solos, to lead McDaniel to a 3-2
victory over Messiah in non-conference volleyball action on
Wednesday.
Trailing two sets to one, the Green Terror (2-1) grabbed a 25-14
victory in game four to force the deciding game, which the visitors
took, 16-14.
The Falcons (1-2) won the opening set 25-21 before McDaniel evened
the match with a 25-23 win. Messiah took the third set 25-13 to go
up 2-1 in the match before the Green Terror's comeback
victory.
In addition to Herrgott's night, Lanni Reisinger (Lemoyne,
Pa./Cedar Cliff) added seven kills and two block
assists.
Kristen Nuckles (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk
Academy) contributed 28 assists and two aces to the
offense. She also added 15 digs on the defensive side of the
net.
Jenna Filipone(Wayne, Pa./Radnor) recorded 23
digs to lead a quartet of players who reached double figures in the
dig column.
McDaniel returns to action at the Battlefield Classic hosted by
Gettysburg on Friday. The Green Terror's first match of the
weekend is against Scranton at 3 p.m.
