WESTMINSTER, Md. – Brittany Baer (Westminster,
Md./Westminster) scored the first two goals to lead
McDaniel to a 5-0 victory over Notre Dame (Md.) in non-conference
women's soccer action on Saturday.
Ashleigh Johnson made 12 saves for the Gators
(0-4) while Leanne Hollinger (Westminster, Md./Winters
Mill) made four stops at the other end.
The Green Terror (2-3) finished with a 32-8 advantage in shots and
8-0 edge in corner kicks.
Baer finished a Tia Scott (Hagerstown, Md./North
Hagerstown) assist at the 4:15 mark before converting a
feed from Melanie Armstrong (Mt. Sinai, N.Y./Mt.
Sinai) just over 20 mintues later.
Scott pushed the lead to 3-0 nearly four minutes before
halftime.
Bridget Thomas (West Chester, Pa./Archmere
Academy) tallied her first collegiate goal in the
58th minute before Emily Harman (Columbia,
Md./Hammond) got her first marker six minutes later to the
final margin.
Rachael Hurst (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) recorded
the assist on Harman's goal for her first career
point.
The Green Terror returns to action at Stevenson on Wednesday. Game
time is 4 p.m.
