WESTMINSTER, Md. – Jess Porcelan recorded
a goal and an assist to lead Ursinus to a 3-0 victory over McDaniel
in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on
Saturday.
The Bears (6-7-1, 5-2 CC) finished the game with a 15-5 advantage
in shots and a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks to hand the Green
Terror (4-9, 1-5 CC) its fourth consecutive loss – all by
shutout. McDaniel has now played the last 379 minutes, 7 seconds
without scoring.
Leanne Hollinger (Westminster, Md.) made seven
saves for the Green Terror while Lisa Clark had
two stops.
Katelyn Miller staked Ursinus to a 1-0 lead in the
34th minute with an unassisted tally, carrying the ball
inside the 18 from the right corner.
Just shy of four minutes into the second half, Eleanor
Jones put away a short pass from Porcelan to double the
Bears' advantage before Porcelanconverted a penalty kick 57
seconds later.
McDaniel returns to action at Gettysburg on Wednesday. Game time is
7 p.m.
