BALTIMORE, Md. – Nick Gauna recorded
assists on two of Johns Hopkins' four goal to lead his team
to a 4-0 victory over visiting McDaniel in Centennial Conference
(CC) men's soccer action on Wednesday.
The 23rd-ranked Blue Jays (9-2-1, 3-0 CC) outshot the
Green Terror (2-6-1, 0-2-1 CC) by a 21-3 margin and held an 8-2
edge in corner kicks.
Robert Hollasch (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) made
eight saves in goal for McDaniel.
In the 20th minute, Evan Kleinberg put
back a Gauna shot-and-save for a 1-0 lead.
Nearly seven minutes before the break, Max Venker
knuckled home the rebound of his own blocked shot to double the
lead.
Ten minutes on the other side of halftime, Akash
Naik headed in a Gauna pass before David
Drake set the final margin in the 80th
minute.
The Green Terror returns to action at Washington (Md.) on Saturday.
Game time is 3 p.m.
