Beard returns for his second season as the Green Terrorlinebackers coach after two seasons on the Allegheny staff.
In his two seasons with the Gators, Beard worked with theoutside linebackers and helped the squad to a pair of 5-5 seasons.In addition to his duties with the outside linebackers, Beardcoordinated the team’s strength and conditioning program in2012.
Prior to joining the Allegheny staff, Beard served as a strengthand conditioning intern at James Madison, where he worked with thebaseball, softball, track and field, men’s soccer andmen’s tennis programs. In addition to providing generalaid for the athletic program’s speed and agility training, hedesigned and instructed team workout and weightlifting sessions. Hehas also served as a strength and conditioning intern at EliteSports Performance and has four years of coaching experiencethrough camp instruction at the Century Knights Football Camp andthe Randy Edsall Football Camp at the University ofConnecticut.
A 2011 graduate of Shenandoah, the Carroll County native earnedhis bachelor of science in kinesiology exercise science.
Beard played his final three collegiate seasons at linebackerand defensive end. In 2009, he was named to the ESPN The MagazineAcademic All-District first team and to the USA South All-AcademicTeam in 2008 and 2009. Following his senior season, Beard waspresented with the Walter Barr Unsung Hero Award.
