Wenrich returned to his alma mater in 2015 to serve as a defensive assistant on the Green Terror staff. He returns for his second season in 2016 to coach the cornerbacks.

A four-year starter at defensive back, Wenrich amassed more than 200 tackles and picked off 12 passes. He also broke up 28 other passes in his career.

Wenrich was also the team’s punter as a junior, booting 67 punts for an average of nearly 34 yards per kick. He was also on the receiving ends of punts over his career, returning punts as a sophomore and junior. Among his 26 career punt returns was a 76-yarder for a touchdown in 2007.

Wenrich was a three-time all-conference selection at defensive back, earning second-team honors as a junior and being tabbed an honorable mention as both a sophomore and senior.

Wenrich graduated with his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2010.
