Rooths returns for his second season on the Green Terror staff in 2015, coaching the cornerbacks.
Rooths most recently served as an assistant defensive backs coach with the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe where he developed coaching methods to improve the performance of defensive backs and special team members. He also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the design and implementation of speed and performance programs for the team.
Rooths has also served as a student coaching intern at Shepherd University, where he helped implement training methods to assist defensive backs in being better coordinated on the field. He also spent one year as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the NFL Champion Baltimore Ravens in 2012.
A graduate of Shepherd, Rooths was a four-year starter on the football team. He holds the NCAA all-divisions records for most punt returns for a touchdown in both a season and a career.
During his career, he was named National Strength and Conditioning Association Athlete of the year and was inducted to the Shepherd University Athletics Hall of Fame for his contributions to the football program.
After his stellar collegiate career, Rooths played professionally for the New York Jets, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also played for the Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe.
