With four years amassed as a Green Terror volleyball standout,two as an assistant coach and the past 18 seasons as the headcoach, Molloy has been a part of over 800 matches in her career onthe Hill. Her incredible run has included eight postseason trips– four as a player and four more on the sidelines.
Molloy’s success as a coach took little time to surface.After her apprenticeship at then-Western Maryland (now McDaniel) in1986 and 1987, Molloy landed her first head coaching position atSusquehanna. There, she led the Crusaders to a pair of 23-winseasons and two Middle Atlantic Conference playoff berths in fiveyears, tying the program record for wins in a season.
In 1993, Molloy returned to her alma mater as the third coach inprogram history. She led the Green Terror to its first CentennialConference title in 1994 and has kept the program at a peak levelsince. In 1999, her squad shared the conference crown. Herteam’s high level of play has carried her into the AVCATachikara Victory Club, hitting the century mark in 1993, earningwin No. 200 in 1998 and eclipsing the 300-win mark in 2005.
With a master’s degree in physical educationadministration from Western Maryland, Molloy competed involleyball, basketball and track while an undergrad. As a senior,she won the Charles W. Havens award, given to the seniorstudent-athlete who best combines athletic achievement andhumanitarianism.
Molloy has served as chairperson of the NCAA Mid-Atlantic RegionAdvisory Committee and was a member of the NCAA Division IIIWomen’s Volleyball Committee in 1997 and again from 1999until 2001. A member of the American Volleyball CoachesAssociation, she has served as a national poll voter since1994.
Molloy resides in Carroll County with her husband Terry,Westminster High School’s Coordinator of Facilities andAthletics Director.
