William Clancey was named assistant women's wrestling coach at McDaniel on Oct. 6, 2025. He has a strong coaching and teaching background, having worked locally in the Carroll County Public School system for 11 years.
Prior to McDaniel, Clancey served as an assistant boys' wrestling coach at Manchester Valley High School from 2023-25, helping the Mavericks qualify for the regional and state duals in 2023 with 11 individual state place-winners.
Clancey was the boys' wrestling assistant under John Lowe at Winters Mill from 2018-22. The Falcons won back-to-back county championship titles in 2017 and 2018, advancing to the regional semifinals and had 14 individual state place winners.
In addition his wrestling coaching experience, Clancey coached the football team at Manchester Valley from 2023-25 while teaching Technology Education and Business. He was also an Instructional Assistant at Winters Mill 2018-23.
A 2017 graduate of Frostburg State, Clancey received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History after earning an Associate of Arts degree from Garrett College in 2015.
Clancey currently resides in Reisterstown with his wife, Katie.
