Rekito joins the athletic training staff at McDaniel in 2025-26 after serving a clinical immersion at Division I Clemson University.
With the Tigers, Rekito provided daily medical care for over 100 student-athletes. She managed student aids while providing emergency care for indoor track meets, assisted in emergency medical care for cases, including a ruptured bicep tendon and heat exhaustion, advocated for athletes during physician encounters for PRP injections and traumatic brain injuries, and utilized Boost and underwater treadmills to help athletes return to running shape.
Prior to Clemson, Rekito worked at PennWestern California in 2023 and 2024. She assisted in management of emergency care for facial lacerations and patellar and Achilles tendon ruptures. She also helped instruct nursing students on spine boarding and football equipment removal, completed Collaborative Institute Training Initiative (CITI) training for research methods, provided first aid coverage during the PennWest California wrestling tournament, and facilitated pre-participation exams including hydration testing, weight, and skin fold measurements for the Brownsville High School wrestling team.
Rekito is a member of the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) and the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers Society (PATS). She has also served as the president of the Athletic Training Club and served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at PennWest where she also competed on the track & field team.
Rekito received her bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a concentration in Pre-Athletic Training from PennWest California in May 2023 and her master of science degree in Athletic Training from PennWest California in May 2025.
