A Maryland native, White is the 26th head coach in the storied 126-year history of Green Terror football. He was named head coach on March 11, 2019 becoming the first African-American head football coach in McDaniel College and Centennial Conference history.
White started his tenure as head coach in 2019 with three wins in his first four games. That year, his defensive scheme totaled 13 fumble recoveries and nine interceptions as McDaniel ranked eighth in Division III in turnover margin (+1.40).
White spent three seasons as the defensive coordinator at McDaniel from 2016-18 with the Green Terror finishing in the top six in the conference in total defense, pass defense and sacks each year, They totaled 74sacks and 20 interceptions and had seven all-conference defenders, including five first-team selections.
Before coming to the Hill, White came to McDaniel after serving as the defensive backs assistant and player development coach at Rutgers in 2015.
From 2009-14, White spent six seasons at ASA College in Brooklyn, N.Y., including the final four as defensive coordinator where his defense was one of the top units in the nation. In 2014, the team ranking seventh in the NJCAA in total defense and fifth in rushing yards allowed per game. The unit was also 14th in pass defense and seventh in scoring defense.
In 2012 and 2013, ASA posted an 18-2 record with six shutouts while winning back-to-back Northeast Football Conference championships during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. In 2013, the Avengers led the nation in scoring defense (9.1 ppg) and were second in total defense while capping the season with a 23-3 victory over DuPage in the Carrier Dome Bowl.
In 2012, ASA was the top defense in the NJCAA, allowing just 38.1 yards rushing per game. The Avengers’ pass defense surrendered just 100 yards per game as the team went 9-1 and won its first conference crown and made its first bowl appearance. ASA finished the season ranked fifth in the final NJCAA poll.
While at ASA, White mentored 24 all-conference performers, six All-Americans and the 2009 National Junior College Player of the Year.
A 2008 graduate of Iona, White began his coaching career at his alma mater where he worked with the wide receivers, a position he himself earned All-MAAC First Team honors at in 2007 when he was team captain and led the Gaels with 49 catches and 610 yards while scoring six touchdowns.
White was a three-year starter at Laurel High School where he was an All-Prince George’s County First Team selection and played in the PG County All-Star Game in 2004. He was a team captain and two-time all-conference performer at Hudson Valley Community College before finishing his collegiate career at Iona.
