Women's Cross Country Competes at Navy Cantello Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The McDaniel College women's cross country teams faced off against a competitive field at the Cantello Invitational hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy on Saturday.

The meet featured top talent from Division I and III, providing an early-season test for the Green Terror.

First-year Isabel Meadows-Soto led McDaniel in the 6K race, clocking in with a time of 24:13.2 to finish 27th overall in a strong field dominated by Division I programs, Navy and UMBC. Meadows-Soto's time is the second-fastest ever on the course in team history. As a result, she now ranks 21st on the top 6K performers list in school history.

Senior Piper Nagaraj crossed next for the Green Terror in 54th place with a time of 28:02.1, followed by first-year Evie Eggers in 56th place with a time of 28:34.0.

While the women did not place, the team saw competition from several of the top Division III programs in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

McDaniel return to action on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational hosted by Dickinson College, site of this year's NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Championships.
