The Gators plated three runs in the first inning. After three scoreless frames both teams exploded for seven combined runs in the fifth inning. Junior Taylor Applefeld scored after a throwing error to put McDaniel on the board, then sophomore Ashley Shawyer added another run on a sacrifice fly. Sophomore Caitlin Boden tied the game at 3-3 after scoring on a wild pitch and senior Bella Sylvester gave McDaniel the lead after scoring on a fielding error at second base.

Notre Dame (MD) countered with a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth, scoring another run on a passed ball to take a 6-4 lead after five.

The Green Terror then rallied in the final two innings to score four straight runs. Sylvester earned an RBI on a groundout to bring McDaniel within one. Junior Sariah Guevara scored on a passed ball to tie the game again, and sophomore Riley Jackson grounded out to score freshman Rileigh Kitchin. Applefeld added an insurance run after scoring on another fielding error to secure a 8-6 win for the Green Terror in game one.

Guevara had two hits in three at-bats, earning a walk and scoring a run. Boden also had a two-hit game, going 2-for-4 from the dish with a walk and a run scored. Morosko, Sylvester, Shawyer and Jackson all added an RBI while freshman Emma Taff added a base hit.

Junior Morgan Rogers earned the win on the road, pitching two innings in relief and allowing only two base hits with no runs or walks. Freshman Cameron Kelly got the start for the Green Terror, striking out four batters and walking two in five innings while allowing five earned runs and eight base hits.

McDaniel earned another come-from-behind win in game two. After jumping out to a 3-1 lead, the Green Terror entered the sixth inning down 7-4. Four straight runs in the sixth inning proved to be the difference in another McDaniel win.

McDaniel 8, Notre Dame 7 (Game 2)

An RBI single from Sylvester got the scoring started in the first inning. Sophomore Keonna Gonzalez scored Sylvester with another RBI single and Jackson earned a walk with the bases loaded to make the score 3-0. The Gators countered in the bottom half of the first on a sacrifice fly, cutting the Green Terror lead to two.

Another three-inning scoreless stretch was ended with a furious Notre Dame (MD) rally in the fifth. After the Green Terror tacked on another run in the top half of the inning, the Gators scored five in the bottom half, highlighted by a two-run homer that made the score 7-4 in favor of the home team.
