LANCASTER, PA. - McDaniel College women's cross country sophomore Maya Colavito finished first to win the individual title at the Charger Invitational hosted by Lancaster Bible on Friday.
The Green Terror finished second, tying with Lancaster Bible with 33 points. However, the Chargers took home the team title after winning the tiebreaker based on the finish of their sixth runner.
Colavito finished the 5k course in a time 20:59.0 to earn her first individual win in cross country. She won the race by over 10 seconds ahead of Lancaster Bible's Seana Dougherty. Colavito also set a new program record for the course.
Junior Piper Nagaraj finished sixth in a time of 23:44.5, senior Emily Paulson followed in eighth in 24:09.6, and junior Natalie Kaminsky placed 11th in 24:34.6. The trio ranks fourth, fifth and sixth in program history on the Lancaster Bible course.
Junior Abby Warner placed 18th, finishing in a time of 28:11.6 to ranked eighth on the course in program history.
McDaniel returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Hornet Harrier Invitational hosted by Shenandoah.
