Colavito Leads Women in Season Opener at Blazer Blitz

FREDERICK, MD. - Sophomore Maya Colavito led the McDaniel College women's cross with a sixth-place finish at the Hood College Blazer Blitz at Utica Park.

The Green Terror finished in fifth place with 86 points. California (Pa.) won the meet, scoring 31 points. Madeline Curtis from California (Pa.) won the four-kilometer race with a time of 15:21.4.

Colavito ran 16:03.9 to finish as the third fastest Division III athlete in the meet. She moves to sixth in program history. Junior Anna Kale placed 16th running 18:08.6, this is the 45th best performance in program history.

Junior Piper Nagaraj placed 23rd running 18:43.4. Senior Emily Paulson followed in 24th running 18:50.4. Junior Natalie Kaminsky rounded out the scorers running 19:13.1 to place 27th.

Junior Abby Warner placed 34th running 21:40.1. Nadia Dennis placed 47th to rounded out the displacers.

The Green Terror will be back in action Friday September 20th for the Charger Invitational hosted by Lancaster Bible.
