WESTMINSTER, Md. - With the match tied at 4-4, junior
Drew Ryder posted a win at No. 6 singles to secure a 5-4 victory for the McDaniel College men's tennis team over York (Pa.) Monday at the Warfield Tennis Courts.
The Green Terror (7-7) won their third-straight match and second in-a-row at home. It was also their second-straight against a team from the MAC Commonwealth Conference after an 8-1 win over Hood on April 17.
Neither team led by more than one and there were four ties before Ryder won in straight sets over Blake Vandenberge 6-0, 6-4.

The Spartans (4-9) tied the match at 2-2 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles before retaking the lead with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles.
Kegley tied the match again with a hard-fought 7-6 (8-6), 6-0 triumph at No. 1 singles over Ben Dorsey before Niederpruem put the Green Terror back in front with tiebreak win at No. 4 singles, 7-6 (7-0), 6-0.
Emmet Larson tied the match for a fourth time with a three-set victory at No. 5 singles, 7-5, 3-6, 11-9, setting the stage for Ryder's heroics in the final match of the day.
With a win in its final home match, McDaniel will close out of the season with back-to-back road matches at Susquehanna and Lycoming on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
