CARLISLE, Pa. - Seven season-bests, including two from freshman
Cooper Eastlack, highlighted the final regular season meet for the McDaniel College men's swimming team Saturday at Dickinson.
In their final meet before the Centennial Conference Swimming Championships, the Green Terror (3-9, 0-6 CC) fell to the Red Devils, 182-61.
Eastlack posted new season-best times in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle relay events to finish fourth and fifth, respectively.
Freshman
Ethan Gell had a season-best time of 2:37.15 in the 200-yard breaststroke to finish third while freshman
Grant Pawley swam a season-best time in the 100-yard breaststroke to finish fourth.
Gell was also the anchor leg of the 200-yard medley relay team along with freshman
Josh Morgan, freshman
Caden Barcicowski and junior
Christian Walker that finished fourth in a season-best time of 1:48.77.
Senior
Aleksei Dudley posted a season-best time in the 200-yard butterfly to finish third and junior
Mark Sanelli posted a season-best time in the 200-yard butterfly to finish fourth.
Morgan finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.47 seconds which was one hundredth of a second off his season-best time set at Ursinus on Nov. 11, 2023.
Freshman
Dimitri Raush-Gernet placed second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:40.71 and fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle.
Walker finished second in the 100 fly in 58.11 seconds and third in the 200 free in 2:01.69 while Gell touched third in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:17.13 and Barcicowski was third in the 100 breast with a time of 1:11.67.
McDaniel will now have over two weeks to prepare for the 2024 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships that will be hosted by Gettysburg beginning on Thursday, Feb. 22.
