LANCASTER, Pa. – The McDaniel College men's swimming team fell 205-44 at Centennial Conference rival Franklin & Marshall on Friday.
The Green Terror (3-5) were led by senior
Aleksei Dudley, who took third place in the 100-yard butterfly, and senior
Mark Sanelli, who placed third in the 50-yard freestyle. Freshman
Zack Duck also notched a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle.
Sophomore
Ethan Gell finished third in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:24.27. Freshman
Niall Navarra and sophomore
Dimitri Raush-Gernet took fifth and sixth in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing with times of 2:02.00 and 2:11.68 respectively.
Freshman
Connor Woodward finished just four seconds off the lead in the 50-yard backstroke, clocking in at 30.09 seconds. Duck and fellow freshman
Xavier Byrd finished fifth and sixth in the 50-yard breaststroke, collecting times of 34.95 seconds and 44.65 seconds. Navarra, Sanelli and Byrd finished fourth, fifth and sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Raush-Gernet nabbed second place in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing with a final time of 6:07.00. Senior
Christian Walker placed fourth in the 50-yard butterfly at 25.79 seconds, followed by Gell and Dudley at 28.03 and 28.88 seconds. The relay team of Sanelli, Dudley, Raush-Gernet and Byrd concluded the day in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:54.38.
McDaniel returns to the pool in a road contest at Hood on Jan. 11 at 1 pm.
