SALISBURY, Md. - Freshman quarterback
Jayden Booker accounted for two touchdowns, one through the air and another on the ground, as the McDaniel College football team fell on the road at No. 7 Salisbury Saturday, 69-13.
The Green Terror (1-8) scored their first points since Oct. 12 against Muhlenberg, snapping a streak of 16 scoreless quarters.
Booker completed 16-of-33 passes for 225 yards, the team's second-highest passing yardage total this season. His primary target was senior
Kyle Silver who had eight receptions for 134 yards, both career highs. Junior
Grayson Wendel caught two passes for 46 yards while senior
Sebastian Wiggins hauled in his first career touchdown catch.
The Sea Gulls (9-0) opened the scoring just 21 seconds into the contest on a 46-yard touchdown run from SyRus McGowan. They increased the lead to 21-0 at the end of the first quarter after scores from Ronald Clark and Jaden Davis.
Two McDaniel drives were stopped by turnovers in the second quarter, leading to two Sea Gull touchdowns in just 18 seconds. A 52-yard touchdown pass to Micah Brubaker with 1:22 remaining in the quarter pushed the lead to 49-0 at the half.
Booker led the Green Terror on a 7-play, 83-yard drive in the third quarter, finding the end zone on a 14-yard scramble.
With 6:43 to play in the fourth, Booker connected with Wiggins on an 8-yard touchdown pass to cap off a 9-play, 69-yard drive.
McDaniel finished with 263 yards of total offense, the team's second-best output of the season behind a 301-yard performance at Gettysburg on Oct. 4.
Salisbury's second-ranked rushing attack totaled 338 yards on the ground, contributing to the team's 521 yards of total offense.

Christian Homer led the Green Terror defense with eight tackles, including one for loss. Seniors
Alex Brown and
Malachi Murphy each had one pass breakup.
McDaniel wraps up the 2024 season at home next Saturday, Nov. 16 against No. 19 Johns Hopkins. Kickoff is set for noon on Rembert Field at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium on Senior Day.
