WASHINGTON, D.C. - Junior Christian Walker totaled three wins to lead the McDaniel College men's swimming team to a sweep in a tri-meet against Goucher and host Gallaudet Saturday.
The Green Terror (3-8), who totaled nine wins as a team, posted a 129-45 win over Goucher and a 143-21 decision against Gallaudet.
Walker had wins in the 100-yard individual medley, 100-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. He began the day with a first-place finish in the 100 IM with a time of 1:01.21 before touching first in the 100 free in 56.70 seconds. He finished the day with a win in the 500 free with a time of 6:10.06.
Junior Mark Sanelli placed third in the 100 IM with a time of 1:17.12 and took fifth in the 100 free with a time of 1:09.56 while freshman Dimitri Raush-Gernet placed second in the 500 free with a time of 6:51.61.
Senior Aleksei Dudley posted two wins in the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. He touched first in the 1,000 free with a time of 11:24.98 and first in the 100 fly in 55.09 seconds.
Raush-Gernet came in second in the 1,000 free and freshman Ethan Gell took second in 100 fly.
Freshman Josh Morgan won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.99 while freshman Cooper Eastlack followed in second with a mark of 2:17.75.
Gell won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.25 seconds with freshman Caden Barcicowski following right behind in second in 25.42 seconds.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Eastlack, Barcicowski, Sanelli, and freshman Grant Pawley finished first in a time of 2:07.70. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Dudley, Eastlack, Raush-Gernet, and Morgan also won, clocking in with a time of 3:57.32.
Barcicowski placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:11.90 while Gell followed in third with a time of 1:13.05. Pawley finished fifth.
Morgan placed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.39. Pawley came in third.
McDaniel returns to action next Saturday, Feb. 3 in a Centennial Conference dual meet at Dickinson beginning at 1 p.m.
