CARLISLE, Pa. - McDaniel College men's tennis junior
Drew Ryder led the team at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles, but Dickinson won all nine matches en route to a 9-0 victory Friday at Hays Tennis Courts.
Despite a battle by Ryder and freshman
Connor Neal, the Green Terror (0-1) dropped an 8-2 decision at No. 2 doubles and trailed 3-0 going into singles competition.
Ryder and sophomore
Justin Edwards contested at No. 1 and No. 5 singles, respectively, but Ryder fell 6-2, 6-1 to Romano De Caprio while Edwards suffered a 6-1, 6-2 setback against Owen Longenecker.
Neal, who was making his collegiate debut, fell in straight sets at No. 4 singles while freshman
Nick Ferraro was also defeated at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
McDaniel makes its home debut on Sunday against Division I Mount St. Mary's at the Warfield Tennis Courts beginning at 11 a.m.
