BALTIMORE, Md. - The McDaniel College women's cross country team opened its season on Friday at the Baltimore Metro Meet hosted by Goucher College.
The Green Terror placed sixth with a total of 174 points.
Graduate student Bailey Mullen placed 22nd with a time of 19:58.3 to set a new program record on the Goucher College course. Her time was 34 seconds faster than her previous record time set a year ago.
Freshman Maya Colavito placed 50th with a time of 21:20.8 which is the second-fastest time in program history on the course.
Sophomore Piper Nagaraj finished 59th in a time of 22:22.4 to move into fourth all-time in program history on the course. She also set a new personal-best by more than 46 seconds.
Junior Emily Paulson placed 75th, crossing the line in 24:34.1, the sixth-best time on the course in program history. Senior Katie Morgan ran a time of 27:26.2 to place 84th and round out the team's top-five scorers. Morgan beat her previous best by almost two minutes.
Mullen will compete in the Navy Invitational next Saturday, Sept. 9 while the rest of the team will compete at the Blazer Blitz hosted by Hood College on Friday.
