GETTYSBURG, Pa. - McDaniel College men's swimming senior
Zach Askounes posted a new season-best in three different events Saturday on day three of the 2023 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships hosted by Gettysburg.
Askounes began the day by recording new season bests in the 400-yard individual medley, 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke in the prelims before anchoring the 200-yard freestyle relay team in the finals. The team of Askounes, senior

Matthew Lessler and sophomore
Mark Sanelli finished fifth and earned 28 points.
Askounes was one of five Green Terror to post a season-best time in the prelims. Alperstein, sophomore
Christian Walker and junior
Aleksei Dudley each recorded their fastest time in the 100-yard butterfly with Walker just missing qualifying for the finals with a time of 52.75 seconds.
Meanwhile, sophomore
Mark Sanelli recorded a new season-best in the 100-yard breaststroke.
As a team, McDaniel currently sits in seventh place with a total of 106 points.
The fourth and final day of the 2023 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships gets underway on Sunday with the prelims beginning at 10 a.m.
