THE SKINNY
McDaniel won all 13 events in which it competed to defeat Gallaudet 141-93 in the final action of 2021.
THE LEADERS
• Jack Alperstein (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) won four times on the afternoon, including capturing individual victories in the 100 backstroke (1:04.49), 100 breaststroke (1:20.67), and 100 freestyle (55.69 seconds). He also led off the winning 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:53.11.
• Aleksei Dudley (Arlington, Va./Wakefield) added four wins of his own, inlcuding as part of the winning 200 medley relay. Individually, he touched first in the 200 butterfly (2:17.91), 200 backstroke (2:22.60), and 200 IM (2:23.19).
• Also part of the 200 medley relay win, Christian Walker (Chestertown, Md./The Gunston School) touched first in three individual events to cap a third four-win day. He won the 200 freestyle (1:58.08), 200 breaststroke (2:35.37), and 100 butterfly (57.13 seconds).
• Zach Askounes (Frederick, Md./Oakdale) won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:00.58. He also won the 500 freestyle (5:20.91) and rounded out the winning relay for a three-win day.
• Matthew Lessler (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) won the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.43 seconds. He was also second in the 1000 freestyle (13:30.51) and 200 back (2:31.48).
FOR THE FOES
• The 200 free relay of Abraham Polanco, Chris Martin-Palafox, Jarius Evans, and John'Ta Price capped the meet with a win in a time of 2:27.85.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Mark Sanelli (Silver Spring, Md./DeMatha) finished second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:29.26. He was also third in the 50 freestyle in a time of 30.89 seconds and the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:11.81.
