FOR THE FOES

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Taking over at the McDaniel 42 after a high snap on a punt attempt forced the Green Terror to scramble for an incomplete pass, Christopher Mills marched Moravian down the field in eight plays for a touchdown. A 21-yard catch by Carrington Smith set up a first-and-goal. Two plays later, Mills powered home a two-yard run for a 7-0 lead with 3:09 on the first-quarter clock.
• The Green Terror responded on the ensuing drive with a 16-play march. Facing a first-and-goal from the one-yard line, the Greyhound defense kept McDaniel off the scoreboard on four straight plays. After a punt gave the Green Terror the ball back at the Moravian 44, an 11-play drive ultimately resulted in the tying score on a Trent Gaskins one-yard run with 3:25 to play in the second quarter.
• McDaniel took the opening drive of the second half to the Greyhound 21 but was forced to settle for a 38-yard Peyton Denlinger (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster-Strasburg) field goal that bounced off the crossbar and over for a 10-7 lead with 8:55 remaining.
• A Mills 25-yard connection with Nick Petros capped a nine-play, 75-yard answer that put Moravian in front 14-10 with 4:50 showing.
• The back-and-forth continued with a nine-play McDaniel drive that ended with a 19-yard touchdown toss to Wesley Nchinda (White Plains, Md./Rockville) with 1:09 on the third-quarter clock to go back in front by three.
• The Greyhounds next drive went 78 yards in eight plays, ending with an 11-yard Chris Carpini touchdown grab for a 21-17 advantage with 11:30 to play.
• The teams traded three-and-outs before a 27-yard Hunter Sigler (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) touchdown made it a 24-21 game with 5:49 remaining.
• Moravian drove the ensuing possession into McDaniel territory but Desmond Banks (Baltimore, Md./Boys Latin School of Maryland) got the first turnover of the game with an interception at the 21-yard line, giving the offense the ball back at the 30 with 1:53 on the clock.
• Moravian took its final timeout after first down and then held firm to force a punt attempt on fourth-and-3 with 12 ticks remaining. A high snap turned the ball over on downs and gave the Greyhounds the ball at the McDaniel 12 with seven second remaining. Trevor Yacuboski trotted out for the 29-yard game-tying field goal attempt on the next play and split the uprights to even the score with two seconds left, eventually forcing overtime.
• McDaniel had the first crack in the first overtime and Gaskins ripped off an 11-yard run on the first play. He added runs of three and 10 before a one-yard scoring run for a 31-24 lead.
• Mills hit Trevor Cunningham on third-and-12 for a 27-yard touchdown, setting up the second overtime.
• The Green Terror was forced into a 37-yard field goal attempt in the second overtime that missed just left. An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after the play set up Moravian at the 12-yard line. One play later, Nate Boyle ran up the middle for the game-winning score.
