McDaniel had 10 of the first 13 runners to cross the line in the two races combined to lead the way at its home invitational.
THE LEADERS
• Megan Mesick (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) led the Green Terror with a 21-second victory in the 5,000-meter race, crossing with a time of 21:41.71.
FOR THE FOES
• Green Terror alum Kelly Gruber won the 3,000-meter race with a time of 13:42.60, crossing 27 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Julia Murphy (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) was second in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 22:02.46.
• Maria Kropkowski (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) was fourth in the 5K with a time of 24:56.64.
• Riley O'Hara (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Secondary School) rounded out those who competed in the 5K, crossing sixth with a time of 25:44.97.
• Skylar Blackbull (Crownpoint, N.M./Rehoboth Christian School) led the Green Terror in the 3K, crossing second in her collegiate debut with a time of 14:09.99.
• Mackenzie Meyer (San Jose, Calif./Pioneer) was third overall with a time of 15:06.09.
• Renee Dupre (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) placed fourth with a time of 16:10.25.
• Sarah Case (Frederick, Md./Oakdale) crossed fifth with a time of 16:22.36.
• Rachel Dixon (Croftton, Md./Arundel) made her collegiate cross country debut with a time of 16:24.52 to place sixth.
• Anna Persick (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) crossed seventh with a time of 16:48.86.
• Vanessa Valez Cabal (Cali, Columbia/Gimnasio la colina) was ninth with a time of 17:41.74.
THE INSIDE STORY
• A total of 11 runners competed in each the 3K and 5K races.
