McDaniel finished sixth out of eight teams with 130 points in its first-ever trip to the ECAC women's cross country championship meet.
THE LEADERS
• Samantha Merkel (Baltimore, Md./Winters Mill) finished 11th with a time of 28:32.8.
FOR THE FOES
• Robin King (Merchant Marine) won the individual title with a time of 26:42.4.
• Vassar captured the team title with 16 points, taking five of the top eight spots.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Megan Mesick (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) placed 38th with a time of 32:30.5.
• Julia Murphy (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) was 39th with a time of 32:49.7.
• Jill Shephard (Monkton, Md./North Harford) finished 40th with a time of 33:12.9.
• Bailey Chapman (Bel Air, Md./Patterson Mill) crossed 108th with a time of 34:08.3.
• Mackenzie Meyer (San Jose, Calif./Pioneer) placed 47th with a time of 34:15.9.
• Nichelle Columba (Derwood, Md./Magruder) rounded out the competitors in 61st place with a time of 46:32.1

• At the 6,000-meter distance, 61 runners competed on the soaked course.
