Henry has career-high 64 yards receiving

Box Score

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Muhlenberg scored 21 first-quarter points en route to a 42-13 Centennial Conference (CC) football victory over McDaniel on Saturday.

Andre Henry Jr. (Frederick, Md./Urbana) caught seven passes for 64 yards – both career highs – to lead the Green Terror (0-3, 0-2 CC) in the 2016 home opener.

Nick Palladino led the Mules (3-0, 2-0 CC) with 243 yards passing, completing 17 of 23 passes with five touchdowns. Nick Lamb caught three of those touchdowns among his eight grabs for 82 yards. Nick Savant added another 110 yards on the ground.

After the teams traded punts to start the game, Palladino moved Muhlenberg 78 yards down the field, finding Matt Stickney from three yards out on the 10th play for a 7-0 lead with 6:31 to play in the opening period.

Just 2:28 later, Palladino found Josiah Wright for a 65-yard scoring strike to double the lead.

A 37-yard touchdown pass to Lamb made it a 21-0 game with 63 ticks remaining in the quarter.

On the first possession of the second quarter, Palladino engineered a 13-play drive that ate up more than six-and-a-half minutes before he found Lamb again from 11 yards out for a 28-0 lead with 5:47 to play in the opening half.

The defenses took over for the remainder of the first half, limiting the two offenses to a combined one yard over 14 plays.

A Savant 42-yard touchdown run and Lamb three-yard scoring catch stretched the lead to 42-0 with 5:54 to play in the third quarter, however.

Matt Cathey (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) did the lion's share of the work on the next McDaniel possession, carrying the ball seven times for 34 yards before Perry Stefanelli (Rockville, Md./Good Counsel) cashed in the drive from nine yards out.

Cathey once again helped the Green Terror move the ball down the field on its final possession of the game, running eight more times for 28 yards before Luke Lynes (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) found Britton Hastings (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg Area) for a three-yard touchdown with 13.4 seconds left.

Lynes completed his first two collegiate passes in the game, including his first scoring strike.

Cathey finished the game with 70 yards on 17 carries.

Ray Doh (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) once again led the defense with seven tackles.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Ursinus on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
