TOWSON, Md. – Carinna Powell (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Northern) finished 11th to lead McDaniel at the Goucher Cross Country Classic in women's cross country action on Saturday.
Time and Score:
- The Green Terror finished third of five teams at the meet with 95 points. A total of 51 runners competed at the 6,000-meter distance. Stevenson won the meet with 43 points.
Heads of the Class:
- Carinna Powell turned in a time of 28:19.8 to lead McDaniel in the race.
Five of a Kind: The following athletes rounded out the scoring five at the meet:
- Steph Becker (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford) finished 15th (29:40.7).
- Sarah Lighter (Olney, Md./Good Counsel) finished 16th (30:02.5).
- Mable Buchanan (Westminster, Md./North Carroll) finished 26th (32:24.9)
- Lucy Benson (Wilmington, Del./Sanford) finished 27th (32:28.8)
Top of Her Game: The following athletes turned in their best 6K time of the season at the meet:
- Mollie Murphy's (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn) time of 33:02.2 was 46 seconds better than her previous best.
