WESTMINSTER, Md. – Muhlenberg rolled up 579 yards of total offense en route to a 59-10 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) football action on Saturday.

Offensively, Matty Callahan (Germantown, Md./Northwest) and Connor Allen (Germantown, Md./Northwest) connected on the lone touchdown for the Green Terror (1-2, 0-2 CC), each registering their first collegiate scores. Defensively, Claude-Michel Richardson (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) made eight tackles to lead the way.

Michael Long led the Mules (3-0, 2-0 CC) with 172 yards receiving on eight catches that included a pair of touchdowns. Max Cepeda also ran for two scores, rushing 14 times for 115 yards.

Nick Palladino marched Muhlenberg 75 yards on eight plays on its opening possession. The quarterback capped the drive with a 10-yard touchdown scamper for a 7-0 lead with 12:19 to play in the first quarter.

Taking over at its own two-yard line after Brett Haas (Laurel, Md./Atholton) angled a punt out of bounds, Palladino and the Mules were aided by two McDaniel penalties on a 12-play march that Palladino once again capped on a keeper from five yards out with 5:06 showing.

Keyed by a 39-yard pass play from Seth McFall (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) to Nick O'Melia (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key), the Green Terror took its next possession to the 10-yard line before it stalled.

Spencer Wiersberg (Salisbury, Md./J.M. Bennett) was able to connect on the 27-yard field goal attempt, however, for his first collegiate field goal and trim the deficit to 14-3 with 1:19 on the clock.

A 20-yard John Feaster run on a fake punt from the Muhlenberg 41 kept the next drive alive and Palladino eventually found Long for a 28-yard touchdown with 11:31 to play.

After a three-and-out, Palladino hit Long for 70 yards on the first play of the Mules' next possession to push the lead to 28-3 just 2:35 later.

A 40-yard Cepeda run capped a three-play, 54-yard drive that made it 35-3 with 3:58 on the second-quarter clock.

A Chris Flynn 31-yard interception return for a touchdown made it 42-3 just 1:32 into the second half.

Cepeda had another two-yard touchdown run and Brendan Connolly caught a 36-yard touchdown around a Connor Winter 38-yard field goal to built a 59-3 lead with 4:41 showing.

Callahan took over on the Green Terror's final drive with 4:34 to play for his first varsity action and immediately found Kevin Yrizarry (Owings Mills, Md./Owings Mills) for an 18-yard gain.

Eight plays later, the sophomore hit his high school teammate from 30 yards out for a touchdown with 15.1 seconds on the clock.

Luke Fernandez (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) and Drew Scott (Brick, N.J./Brick Twp.) added seven and six tackles, respectively.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Ursinus on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
