McDaniel places second at Coach Achtzehn Classic
YORK, Pa. – Lindsay Wilson
(Catonsville, Md./Seton Keough) won the Coach Achtzehn Classic
hosted by York (Pa.) to lead McDaniel to a second-place finish in
women's cross country action on Saturday.
The Green Terror finished with 65 points as a team. Franklin
& Marshall won the event with 40 points.
A week after winning a pair of races at home and earning the
Centennial Conference runner of the week honors, the senior won her
third consecutive race at John Rudy Park, bettering her own
personal-best on the course by more than 22 seconds. She completed
the 5,000-meter course in a time of 19:08.99 – the
fourth-fastest time all-time by a Green Terror athlete on the
course.
Missy Black
(West Grove, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) placed eighth overall with a time
of 20:40.19, bettering her previous best on the course by more than
1 minute, 20 seconds.
Emily
Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) ran her second fastest
time on the course, finishing 13th overall in a time of
20:54.90.
Becky Kaler
(Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) finished 21st overall (21:29.15) while
Joy Chand
(Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) crossed 30th overall
(21:58.47).
McDaniel returns to action at the Paul Short Invitational hosted
by Lehigh on Friday, Oct. 1.
