McDaniel takes first at Hornet Harrier
WINCHESTER, Va. – Lindsay Wilson
(Catonsville, Md./Seton Keough) notched her fourth individual
victory of the season to lead McDaniel to a first-place finish at
the Hornet Harrier hosted by Shenandoah in women's cross country
action on Saturday.
The Green Terror finished with 27 points in a field that
featured three complete teams, defeating Shenandoah – who was
ranked fourth in the South Region of the latest USTFCCA rankings
– by two points.
Wilson, who was on a three-race winning streak before finishing
sixth at the prestigious Paul Short Run last week, completed the
5,000-meter course in a time of 19:16.73. The reigning Centennial
Conference Runner of the Week won by nearly 49 seconds.
Emily
Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) finished fourth overall
in a time of 21:17.32 while Missy Black (West
Grove, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) crossed fifth in a time of
21:22.62.
Becky Kaler
(Jefferson, Md./Brunswick), Jennifer Garnett
(Los Altos, Calif./Homestead) and Joy Chand (Frederick,
Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) finished eighth (22:51.03), ninth
(23:37.78) and 10th (23:50.35), respectively.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Hood Invitational on
Saturday.
