Black, Peoples notch top-10 finishes to lead Green Terror
FREDERICK, Md. – Missy Black (West Grove, Pa./Bishop
Shanahan) finished fifth overall to lead McDaniel to a third-place
finish at the Hood Invitational in women's cross country
action on Saturday.
Finishing without its top runner, the Green Terror still placed
third with 84 points in the 10-team field. Bridgewater finished
first with 36 points while Catholic was second with 52 points.
Black completed the 6,000-meter course in a time of 25:39.16
while Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) added a top-10
showing, finishing with a time of 26:08.39 to cross ninth.
Freshman Becky Kaler (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) turned in her
fastest 6K time with a time of 26:35.22 to place 13th overall.
Joy Chand (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) placed 26th
overall with a time of 27:46.56.
The Green Terror takes next week off before returning to action
at the Centennial Conference Championship hosted by Johns Hopkins
on Oct. 30. Race time is 11 a.m.
