Wilson places 16th to pace McDaniel
BALTIMORE, Md. - Lindsay Wilson (Catonsville, Md./Seton
Keogh) finished in 16th place overall to lead McDaniel to
a third-place showing at the 2009 Baltimore Metro Meet in women's
cross country action on Friday.
The Green Terror registered 107 points, finishing behind only
Johns Hopkins, which is ranked fifth in the USTFCCCA Division III
preseason poll, and Division I Towson. The Blue Jays placed seven
runners in the top eight spots to win easily with 17 points. The
Tigers recorded 46 points in the eight-team event.
Wilson - the first runner not from Johns Hopkins or Towson to
finish - completed the 5,000-meter course in a time of 19:54.34.
Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters
Mill) was the second Green Terror runner across the line,
finishing 20th in a time of 20:28.43.
Jennifer Garnett (Los Altos, Calif./Homestead)
placed 29th overall in a time of 21:22.62 while freshman
Joy Chand (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) was
34th overall in a time of 21:47.22.
Laura Shinn (Weehawken, N.J./Pennington)
rounded out McDaniel's top five with a 60th-place showing
(23:53.36).
Freshman Forest Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters
Mill) debuted with a time of 24:04.85.
The Green Terror returns to action in its own home invitational
on Sept. 12.
