McDaniel sweeps top five spots in 3K race; Wilson wins both
events
WESTMINSTER, Md. - Lindsay Wilson (Catonsville,
Md./Seton Keough) won both the 3,000- and 5,000-meter
races to lead McDaniel to a team victory at the 2009 Green Terror
Challenge in women's cross country action on Saturday.
As a team, the Green Terror won the combined title with 33
points, including scoring the minimum of 10 in the 3,000-meter
race.
Wilson led a quintet of McDaniel runners to the line in the 3K,
crossing in a time of 11:55. She won the 5K race in a time of
19:55.
Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters
Mill) followed Wilson across the line in the shorter race
(12:45) and placed fourth in the longer race (21:29).
Jennifer Garnett (Los Altos, Calif./Homestead)
was third in the 3K with a time of 12:45 while Emma Nichols
(Myersville, Md./Middletown) was fourth in a time of
13:01.
Joy Chand (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson)
placed fifth in the 3K (13:04) and ninth in the 5K (22:23).
The Green Terror returns to action at the Dickinson Long-Short
Invitational on Saturday.
