Fleischer paces Green Terror at Mideast meet
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster,
Md./Winters Mill) finished 85th overall in a time of
24:10.1 to lead McDaniel to a 31st-place finish at the 2009 NCAA
Division III Mideast Regional meet hosted at Lehigh in women's
cross action on Saturday.
The Green Terror recorded 906 points in the field of 44 complete
teams without two of its top runners. The Centennial Conference
swept the top three team spots with Johns Hopkins winning the title
(109 points). Dickinson and Haverford were second (113) and third
(146), respectively. Grove City (175) and Gettysburg (195) rounded
out the top five teams.
Joy Chand (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson)
and Jennifer Garnett (Los Altos, Calif./Homestead)
finished 178th (25:43.1) and 180th (25:49.5), respectively.
Emily Hajjar (Frederick, Md./Urbana) crossed in
a time of 27:34.4 while Lauren DiNatale (Auburn,
N.H./Manchester Memorial) finished in a time of 28:13.6.
Kristin Beil (Parkton, Md./Hereford) and
Sarah Holbrook (Winchester, Va./John Handley)
rounded out the McDaniel competitors with times of 29:35.9 and
31:07.9, respectively.
