LEXINGTON, Ky. – Marlowe Embry (San Jose, Calif./J.H. Pitman), a junior on the McDaniel volleyball team, has been named an honorable mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), released on Tuesday.
Embry, an outside hitter, made her second all-region appearance, earning first-team honors for the first time to become eligible to be an All-American after behind tabbed honorable mention all-region last season.
She earned her second straight All-Centennial Conference (CC) honor and third straight all-conference appearance after being tabbed to the second team as a rookie. Embry led the attack this season with 325 kills and was second on the team with 324 digs. She is also led the team with 42 aces and recorded 12 double-doubles in 29 matches this season.
She is the first AVCA All-American in program history.
The Green Terror (16-13, 7-3 CC) advanced to the semifinals of the CC tournament and ECAC tournament finals.
