THE SKINNY STORY
After the teams split the first two sets, Messiah won the final two for a 3-1 win over McDaniel.

THE LEADERS
Kendall Hanak (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) led the Green Terror with 15 digs.
Marlowe Embry (San Jose, Calif./J.H. Pitman) led the attack with 12 kills to go with four aces and seven digs.

FOR THE FOES
• Mary Underman led the Falcons with 12 kills while Payton Manwaring had 10.
• Amanda Dahlman led the defense with 23 digs and added three aces.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Trailing 8-7, three Mary Underman kills keyed a 6-0 run that gave Messiah a 13-8 advantage en route to a 25-15 victory in the first set.
• A pair of Abigail Hernandez (Gaithersburg, Md./Richard Montgomery) aces keyed a 5-0 run that turned an 11-7 deficit into a 12-11 edge for McDaniel in the second set. Two Embry kills helped the Green Terror stretch the lead to 21-17 en route to a 25-21 victory.
• The third set was tied at 17-all before the Falcons tallied three straight points and eight of the final 10 for a 25-19 win.
• McDaniel jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the fourth set but back-to-back Amanda Dahlman aces keyed a 4-0 run that put the hosts in front, 7-5. Trailing 9-8, five straight Messiah points gave them the lead for good, completing the win with a 25-17 victory.

THE INSIDE STORY
Gayle Edelstein (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) added 31 assists and nine digs for the Green Terror.
Emma Lorenzen (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) chipped in eight kills, three aces and a block.
