THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel capped a tri-match with a sweep of Eastern to earn a split on the day.

THE LEADERS
Marlowe Embry (San Jose, Calif./J.H. Pitman) led the Green Terror with 13 kills to go with four aces and six digs.
Anna Jezerski (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) added 14 kills on just 17 swings for a .706 hitting percentage.
Kendall Hanak (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) steadied the defense with 10 digs.

FOR THE FOES
• Caroline Shelby led the Eagles with 12 kills.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Tied at 6-all in the first set, Marlowe Embry and Anna Jezerski combined for five kills in a 6-0 run that gave McDaniel a 12-6 advantage en route to a 25-15 victory.
• Trailing 5-4, Emma Lorenzen (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown), Embry and Jezerski each put down kills on successive points to key a 5-0 run that gave McDaniel a 9-5 edge. Back-to-back Embry aces during another 5-0 run helped pushed the lead to 16-9 in a 25-19 win.
• In the third set, two Isabel Paci (Ellicott City, Md./River Hill) aces keyed a 5-0 burst that turned a 7-5 deficit into a 10-7 lead. The lead swelled to 21-13 en route to a 25-19 win to complete the sweep.

THE INSIDE STORY
Gayle Edelstein (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) added 35 assists for the Green Terror.
Emma Lorenzen finished with nine kills.
Isabel Paci chipped in seven kills and two blocks with the two aces.
