FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Chloe Allen-Gorman (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) won the 3,000 and finished fourth in the 1,500 to lead McDaniel at the Battleground Relays hosted by Mary Washington in season-opening women's outdoor track and field action on Friday and Saturday.

Alva Ecker (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) led the Green Terror on the field side, finishing in the top six in all three of her events at the non-scoring meet.

Allen-Gorman won the 3,000 with a time of 11:05.11 on Friday before finishing fourth in a Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying time of 5:07.67 in the 1,500 on Saturday.

Ecker won the triple jump on Friday with a distance of 10.32 meters, hitting the CC standard and debuting in fifth place on the program's all-time list. She was sixth in the pole vault (2.44) and third in the long jump (4.64) on Saturday. Both marks hit conference-qualifying standards.

Claire Lawson (McMinnville, Ore./McMinnville) hit the conference mark in both hurdles events. She was second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:12.10. She finished seventh in the finals of the 100 hurdles (17.71) after ranking sixth with a time of 17.46 seconds in the prelims. Her 400 hurdles time ranks 10th all-time.

Katie Corson (Ocean View, N.J./Ocean City) followed Lawson in the 100 hurdles, placing third in a CC-qualifying time of 1:14.75.

The sprint medley relay finished fifth with a time of 2:03.10.

The Green Terror returns to action at the Goucher Invitational on Saturday.
