Wells tallies two and one in shutout win

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel scored twice in the first half en route to a 6-0 win over Gallaudet in non-conference men's soccer action on Wednesday.

Raul Escobar (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) and Jacob Wells (Hanover, Pa./South Western) led the Green Terror (3-0) with two goals each. Wells also added an assist.

Noah Means-Simonsen led the Bison (0-3) with six saves.

Escobar got McDaniel on the board with an unassisted tally in the 26th minute before Wells finished a feed from Pat Palin (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) just over four minutes later for his first collegiate tally, ultimately stretching the lead to 2-0 at the break. The Green Terror finished the opening half with a 13-2 advantage in shots.

Goals from Escobar and Jonathan Horrocks (Clarksville, Md./Mt. Hebron) doubled the advantage before Wells, who assisted on Escobar's second tally, made it a 5-0 game at the 52:47 mark.

Billy Rodgers (Hopewell, N.J./Montgomery) finished a pass from Dominic Byerly (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) with just 6:31 to play for the final margin.

McDaniel finished with a 20-3 advantage in shots and 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Nick Over (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) needed to make one save for his second shutout in the first three contests.

McDaniel returns to action at Albright on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
