Ford makes 11 saves

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall scored twice in the first 10 minutes en route to a 6-1 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Wednesday.

Paige Ford (Edgewater, Md./South River) led the Green Terror (1-9, 0-5 CC) with 11 saves in the first 60 minutes in goal.

Emily Nagle paced the 14th-ranked Diplomats (8-2, 5-0 CC) with three goals.

Nagle finished a rebound at the 6:54 mark before Erin Coverdale knocked home a shot from the top of the circle just over three minutes later for a 2-0 lead.

Paige Norarianni crossed to Nagle, who finished in the 18th minute for a 3-0 lead.

Sydney Cole scored on a rebound in the 28th minute before hitting Nagle on a cross three and a half minutes later.

Ncole Bodo scored 2:03 before the end of the first half to push the lead to 6-0.

Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) tipped in a Gabrielle Yore (Olney, Md./Sherwood) pass from the top of the circle on a corner in the 62nd minute to break up the shut out.

Franklin & Marshall had a 36-2 advantage in shots and 14-1 advantage in penalty corners for the game.

McDaniel returns to action at Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Game time is 3 p.m.
