WESTMINSTER, Md. – Shenandoah escaped regulation with a 2-1 victory over McDaniel in non-conference field hockey action on Wednesday.

Emily Houska (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) led the Green Terror (0-2) with her second goal in as many games this season.

Melissa DeiTos tallied the game-winner for the Hornets (3-0), scoring with just 52 seconds remaining for the victory.

Megan Stevens got Shenandoah on the board in the 28th minutes, putting back a rebound off a diving shot-and-save. The Hornets held a 7-0 advantage in shots in the first half but could just find the goal the one time.

Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) drove in from the left side and blasted a pass across the circle to Houska on the back post, who knocked it home to tie the game at 1-all with 4:34 to play in regulation.

Taylor Hayes blasted a ball from the top of the arc to a waiting DeiTos in front of the cage. She turned and was able to finish for the game-winner.

The Hornets finished with a 13-4 advantage in shots and 10-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Paige Ford (Edgewater, Md./South River) made six saves in goal.
