WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Keene State scored six runs in its final two at bats to defeat McDaniel 6-1 at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational in baseball action on Friday.

Colin Franke (Highland Mills, N.Y./Cornwall Central) led the Green Terror (6-4) with three hits in the team's final of eight games in Florida.

Connor Walsh led the Owls (6-4) with a 3-for-3 day at the plate.

Trailing 1-0 on back-to-back doubles from Tim Griest (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) and Franke in the top of the sixth, John Tarascio led off the home seventh with a double.

Abe Grainger followed with a pinch-hit double to tie the game.

A sacrifice bunt and sacrifice fly gave Keene State the lead, 2-1.

Five straight hits to start the eighth, including a Grainger two-run triple, stretched the lead to 5-1.

An error and fielder's choice allowed Grainger to score the final run.

Andrew Houde scattered nine hits over eight innings with five strikeouts for the Owls before Connor Johnson worked around two singles to lead off the ninth to close out the game.

McDaniel returns to action in the home opener against Penn State-York on Tuesday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
