Debinski win to lead way for D3 crown

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Rebecca Debinski (Sykesville, Md./Century) finished first to lead McDaniel to a first-place finish in the Division III section of the 34th Annual Greensboro XC Invitational in women's cross country action on Saturday.

Time and Score:

  • The Green Terror finished with 26 points. A total of 47 runners competed at the 5,000-meter distance. Salem College was second with 55 points.

Five of a Kind: The following athletes rounded out the Green Terror's finishers:

  • Samantha Merkel (Baltimore, Md./Winters Mill) finished third (21:00.96)
  • Mollie Murphy (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn) finished eighth (23:19.69)
  • Jill Shephard (Monkton, Md./North Harford) finished ninth (23:21.50)
  • Bailey Chapman (Bel Air, Md./Patterson Mill) finished 12th (24:00.70)
  • Mackenzie Meyer (San Jose, Calif./Pioneer) finished 16th (24:19.90)
  • Sydney Gonsalves (Hagerstown, Md./Barbara Ingram School for the Arts) finished 33rd (28:08.97)

Next Up: The Green Terror is back in action at the Bud Smitley Invitational hosted by Penn State Harrisburg on Friday beginning at 4 p.m.
