Kaler finishes 60th

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Becky Kaler (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) finished 60th overall to lead McDaniel to a 10th-place finish at the 2012 Centennial Conference women's cross country championship hosted by Haverford on Saturday.

The Green Terror finished with 301 points. Johns Hopkins claimed its fifth straight title with 24 points behind a 1-2-4 finish.

On a course 40 meters short of the full 6K distance, Kaler crossed with a time of 24:15.6. She joined Claire Lawson (McMinnville, Ore./McMinnville), Amber Slater (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill), Caroline Unger (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South), Kristin Beil (Parkton, Md./Hereford) and Lauren Murray (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne's County), who all ran PR equivalents.

Lawson crossed 82nd with a time of 25:37.6 while Slater was 86th in a time of 25:54.2.

Unger finished 92nd in a time of 26:13.0.

Sophia Fricke (PA Furnace, Pa./State College Area) rounded out the top five, finishing 98th with a time of 26:55.3.

McDaniel returns to action at NCAA Division III Mideast Regional hosted by Dickinson at Big Spring High School on Saturday, Nov. 10. Action begins at 11 a.m.
