Kaler places eighth

GRANTHAM, Pa. – Becky Kaler (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) finished eighth overall to lead McDaniel to a fourth-place showing at the Messiah Invitational in women's cross country action on Saturday.

The Green Terror finished with 110 points. The host Falcons won the meet with 19 points.

Kaler finished with a time of 25:38.20 for her first top-10 finish on a 6,000-meter course this season.

Kelsey Minyon (Millville, Del./Indian River) placed 32nd overall with a time of 28:03.90.

Amber Slater (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) and Joy Chand (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) finished 34th (28:09.50) and 35th (28:15.40), respectively.

All four runners recorded their best 6K times of the season.

Kristin Beil (Parkton, Md./Hereford), Lauren Murray (Centreville, Va./Queen Anne's County) and Phoebe McHale (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) were 39th (28:40.10), 40th (29:27.50) and 41st (29:40.90), respectively. The trio also had their best times of the year.

The Green Terror returns to action at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday.
