McDaniel College has announced its Dean’s List from the Fall 2017 semester and 129 Green Terror student-athletes, including 37 first-semester students, qualified for the honors. In addition, six student-athletes were named to the Green and Gold Honor Roll.
Taylor Bauman, a junior, and Kristen Upton, a senior, were named the Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year in their respective sports. Bauman and Upton were two of 30 Green Terror spring student-athletes named to the CC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
Taylor Bauman, a junior, was named to the Academic All-District II Division III volleyball first team presented by CoSIDA. Bauman earned her first nod to the team with a 4.0 GPA as of the end of the spring semester.
Marlowe Embry led the Green Terror with seven kills and 17 digs while also adding a pair of aces. Bethany pulled out a closely-contested first set en route to a 3-0 win over McDaniel in the first round of the 2017 ECAC tournament.
McDaniel learned its season will continue with a selection to the ECAC Division III volleyball tournament. The Green Terror will host Bethany in one of the first-round matches on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
Allie Lugar led the Green Terror with five kills, three service aces and two blocks. Johns Hopkins took the opening set 25-12 to key a 3-0 win over McDaniel in the semifinal of the Centennial Conference tournament.
McDaniel will travel to Franklin & Marshall in the first-round match of the 2017 Centennial Conference volleyball championship on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m. The fifth-seeded Green Terror faces the fourth-seeded Diplomats with the winner advancing to Saturday’s semifinals at Johns Hopkins.
Teryn Rath led the Green Terror with 14 kills on the day, including 11 in the opening match. Muhlenberg won a pair of close sets to top McDaniel 3-1 before the Green Terror rebounded to sweep Lancaster Bible, 3-0.
Marlowe Embry led McDaniel with 25 kills and 31 digs on the day, including her eighth double-double of the season with 17 kills and 18 digs against Haverford. The Green Terror fell 3-2 to the Fords before dropping a 3-1 decision to Cabrini in the second match.
