CARLISLE, Pa. – McDaniel scored the final three points of the fifth set to edge Dickinson 3-2 in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on Wednesday.

Teryn Rath (Grass Valley, Calif./Bear River) recorded 20 kills and three total blocks to lead the Green Terror (17-7, 5-4 CC), who remained alive in the playoff chase entering the final weekend of the regular season. McDaniel will secure the fifth seed in next week's conference tournament with a win at Ursinus on Friday night and a Haverford loss against Swarthmore on Saturday.

Anastasiya Khlopina led the Red Devils (9-16, 2-7 CC) with 14 kills. Jamie Singer added 10 kills and 10 digs.

Emma Lorenzen (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) opened the deciding set with a block assist and kill to stake the visitors to a 2-0 lead. Allie Lugar (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) then dropped a ball just inside the back line to extend the lead to 6-2 before Dickinson crept back to within 6-4.

A bad set and Isabel Paci (Ellicott City, Md./River Hill) ace stretched the lead back to four. Behind a Jaqueline Banker ace, the Red Devils put together four straight points to close to within 10-9 but a Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) kill off an overpass snapped the run.

The teams traded points until a Lorenzen kill gave McDaniel a 13-11 lead. Hayley Mills (Bowie, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) and Lauren Wells (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) then combined on a block before Mills put down the final kill of the night to end it, 15-11.

Three straight Mills kills early in the first set staked the Green Terror to an 8-4 lead before Dickinson rallied to even the set at 18-all. After seven more ties, Singer and Erin Bongo put together back-to-back kills for a 25-24 edge. An attacking error out of the ensuing timeout gave the hosts a 26-24 victory.

Tied at 5-all in the second set, McDaniel notched three straight pints and never trailed the rest of the way for a 25-15 win.

Three straight aces from Kendall Hanak (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Rock Canyon) opened up a 12-4 lead in the third set for the Green Terror en route to a 25-13 victory.

Dickinson jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the fourth set before McDaniel rallied to tie the set at 15-all. A Lorenzen ace gave the visitors a 17-15 edge before a pair of miscues tied the set once again. Tied at 19-all, a Singer kill and three straight errors gave the Red Devils a 23-19 lead before they held on for a 25-20 win.

Paci led the Green Terror defensively with a career-best 25 digs. She also chipped in six kills, five assists, one ace and one block Bauman added 23 digs while Hanak had 11 digs and three aces. Lugar added 11 kills while Mills and Wells had nine each.
