WESTMINSTER, Md. – Johns Hopkins won the third set 25-14 to secure a sweep of McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on Tuesday.
Lauren Wells (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) led the Green Terror (12-14, 3-6 CC) with 14 assists, three blocks, three kills, an ace and two digs.
Elizabeth Wuerstle recorded 11 kills and six digs to pace the Blue Jays (16-7, 9-0 CC), who clinched the top seed in next week's conference tournament.
Johns Hopkins won the first two sets by identical 25-20 margins before completing the sweep, 25-14.
Tied at 16-all in the first set, Kristi Rhead recorded a kill and an ace to take a two-point edge en route to the five-point win.
The second set featured a 9-0 run that turned a 13-11 deficit into a 19-14 lead. The stretch featured four Genevieve Thomas aces.
A pair of Louisa Kishton kills keyed a 15-6 start to the third set en route to the sweep.
Allie Lugar (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) led the attack with six kills while Hayley Mills (Bowie, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) and Teryn Rath (Grass Valley, Calif./Bear River) added four kills and two blocks each.
McDaniel concludes the season at home against Washington (Md.) on Saturday. Match time is 1 p.m.
